A THEOREM ON THE IWASAWA PROJECTION AND APPLICATIONS TO SOME REPRESENTATIONS OF REDUCTIVE GROUPS

Abstract:
We derive a formula for the Iwasawa projection on a real reductive group of Harish-Chandra class which leads to the consideration of a companion series to the principal series of representations. We show that the companion series consists of classes of representations each of which is not equivalent to any member of the principal series. |
