Abstract: We consider the
-expansion method joint the improved tanh-coth method and we show that the first
is a particular case of the second. More exactly, we show that the two methods
are equivalent to extended tanh method. We obtain exact solutions of the
one-dimensional Burgers’ equation using the unique solution of the standard
Riccati equation which is used in the generalized tanh-coth method, and
therefore we conclude that the solutions obtained using
-expansion, improved tanh-coth generalized tanh-coth or extended tanh method,
all are equivalents from the point of view of physical applications.
