Abstract: In this paper, we give
a numerical solution to the incompressible Navier-Stokes equations for the flow
inside a U-tube and inside contraction geometry by using grid generation
technique [17]. The transformed equations are solved as follows: time dependent
vorticity-stream functions equation is solved explicitly for (w) using the explicit marching procedure, then the y-Poisson equation is solved by successive over
relaxation iteration, and pressure Poisson equation is also solved using
successive over relaxation iteration. In all cases, we take the grid points to
be movable with respect to time. |
Keywords and phrases: successive over-relaxation iteration, Navier-Stokes equations, tube and nozzle flow. |
