Author Information

Types of Manuscripts: A research paper is a full-length, technically original research document that reports results of significant and archival value to the specific community of engineers, researchers and scientists that comprise the journal audience.

A research paper or technical brief should be clear, concise, and complete, with assumptions plainly identified and data presented (including their uncertainty) with precise logic, with relevance to practices described, and with actual accomplishments of the work clearly stated and honestly appraised.

Submission: Manuscripts, in duplicate, may be submitted to the Editor-in-Chief or Managing Editor or to a Member of the Editorial Board for consideration in the JP Journal of Solids and Structures at the address of the Publisher [Papers prepared in formats, viz., .tex, .dvi, .pdf, .ps or .doc may be submitted electronically at the e-mail address: pphmj.solids@gmail.com or kkazad@pphmj.com or solid@pphmj.com or arun@pphmj.com]. The paper must be typed only on one side in double spacing with a generous margin all round. Papers in duplicate with a letter of submission may be submitted at the following address:

Articles received are immediately put before the referees/members of the Editorial Board for their opinion who generally pass on the same in six week's time or less. In case of clear recommendation for publication, the paper is accommodated in an issue to appear next.

Style of Manuscripts:

Abstract and Keywords: Authors are requested to provide an abstract of not more than 300 words. Keywords should be provided to assist with indexing of the article.

Introduction: This section should include sufficient background information to set the work in context. The aims of the manuscript should be clearly stated. The introduction should not contain either findings or conclusions.

Materials and Methods: This should be concise but provide sufficient detail to allow the work to be repeated by others.

Results: Results should be presented in a logical sequence in the text, tables and figures; repetitive presentation of the same data in different forms should be avoided. The results should not contain material appropriate to the Discussion.

Discussion: This should consider the results in relation to any hypotheses advanced in the introduction and place the study in the context of other work. Only in exceptional cases should the Results and Discussion sections be combined.

Acknowledgement: The source of financial grants and other funding must be acknowledged, including a frank declaration of the authors(s) industrial links and affiliations.

References: References should be arranged in alphabetical order by the surname of the first author in the following style:

Figures:
Figures should be sent as: fair copy on paper, whenever possible scaled to about 200%, or as EPS file (Encapsulated PostScript). In addition, all figures and tables should be numbered and the appropriate space reserved in the text, with the insertion point clearly indicated.

Copyright: It is assumed that the submitted manuscript has not been published and will not be simultaneously submitted or published elsewhere. By submitting a manuscript, the authors agree that the copyright for their articles is transferred to the publisher, if and when, the paper is accepted for publication. The publisher cannot take the responsibility of any loss of manuscript. Therefore, authors are requested to maintain a copy at their end.

Proofs: One set of galley proofs of a paper will be sent to the author submitting the paper, unless requested otherwise, without the original manuscript, for corrections after the paper is accepted for publication on the basis of the recommendation of referees. Corrections should be restricted to typesetting errors; any other corrections may be charged to the authors. Authors are advised to check their proofs very carefully before return. Corrected proofs are to be returned to the publishers.

Print Charges: Authors are requested to arrange print charges of their papers @ USD 40 per page for USA and Canada, and EURO 30 per page for rest of the world from their institutions/research grants, if any. However, for authors in India this charge is Rs. 500 per page.

Reprints:
Twenty-five reprints of a paper are provided to the authors ex-gratis. Additional sets of reprints may be ordered at the time of proof correction.
