EMPIRICAL INVESTIGATION ON FACTORS INFLUENCING THE BEHAVIORAL INTENTION TO USE e-LIBRARY FOR A PRIVATE UNIVERSITY IN KUWAIT USING STATISTICAL APPROACH IN A STRUCTURE EQUATION MODEL (SEM)
e-library use is important for the institutes of higher education; as it assists students in their learning process. Purchasing and implementing such systems require huge cost and great efforts from the institutes of higher education.
The present study measures the use of e-library systems at The Australian College of Kuwait (ACK) and Gulf University for Science and Technology (GUST). In addition, this study examines the factors that affect the e-library use.
A model including the factors that affected the use of e-library was developed. The model was tested by collecting data via a questionnaire provided to the students of ACK and GUST. A sample of 212 respondents was used to assist in analyzing the results of this study.
The most significant findings were that: The following factors had the greatest effect on the e-library use: perceived ease of use, perceived usefulness, social influence, user satisfaction, relevance, outcome expectations, and self-efficacy. Depending on these findings, the study proposed methods through which the students use of the e-library systems at ACK and GUST can be increased.
