NUMERICAL CONTROL OF A DISCRETE PHASE TRANSITION MODEL: THE MONOPOLE PROBLEM

Abstract: In this paper, we focus on theoretical and numerical aspects of a discrete phase transition model (the monopole problem). After proving the existence, unicity of an unstable equilibrium point of the monopole problem and the local controllability of the problem, we propose a numerical control method (coupling Ipopt and Matlab) to solve the problem. The proposed method allows us to control the monopole system starting to initial state to reach the equilibrium state at finite time T. |
