Abstract: How do we study the sensitivity of the rate of introduction of the pollutant into the environment? This is a challenging scientific question of concern to scientists and numerical mathematicians alike. To successfully tackle this problem, we have used the technique of ODE45 numerical method to calculate the precise sensitivity measures of the three most popular norms. Our present contribution clearly shows that the parameter in question is sensitive and hence can be considered as an important parameter which does not need to be deleted from the dynamics of this proposed model according to the principle of parsimony. It is expected that our novel results will propel further model validation and guide further research in the field of mathematical modelling and numerical simulation of survival of species which depend on a resource in a polluted environment. |
