A NEW PARALLEL ALGORITHM FOR FINITE DIFFERENCE APPROXIMATION TO THE SECOND-ORDER ORDINARY DIFFERENTIAL EQUATION

Abstract: The concepts of mathematical stencil and the strategy of stencil elimination are presented in finite difference approximation to the second-order ordinary differential equation, and then a new parallel and explicit algorithm is established. Stability of the algorithm is proved. Numerical examples are given to illustrate the theoretical results. |
