Abstract: Mathematical morphological operators are useful for examining the geometrical structure of an image by examining with ‘structuring elements’, of suitable size and shape. Mathematical morphology is a part of the theory of image processing. But with the development of the generalized theory of Mathematical Morphology, it now finds new applications in the medical field also. This new idea takes theories from Topology, Algebra, Statistics, Calculus, etc. Fractal Geometry is a very new branch in mathematics. Fractals are useful in the Medical Imaging. A series of morphological operators is applied to an image in order to make certain observations more clear. Proper diagnosis of a disease is very important in the medical field. In this paper, an attempt to give direction to a possible way for detecting diseases is materialized. This idea can also be possible to apply in other similar areas. |
Keywords and phrases: dilation, sensitive operator, stirring operator, morphological space, fractal. |
