Abstract: This paper considers the problem of simultaneously estimating the state and the unknown input of an MIMO disturbed system. Through using a sliding mode observer to obtain the relation between the unknown input and system state, we can transform the original system into a descriptor system form and then propose the proportional derivative observer to simultaneously estimate the state and unknown input. The estimation error is shown to be finally bounded by a small region. Moreover, the algorithm developed in this paper can be successfully implemented in the system with unstable invariant zeros (with respect to the relation between the output and the unknown input). Finally, the feasibility and the estimation performance using the proposed observer are analyzed and demonstrated with a simulated example. |
