ON THE APPLICATION OF SOM NEURAL NETWORK IN UNIVERSITY ADMISSIONS
DECISION-MAKING

Abstract:
The SOM neural network has been widely applied in the pattern clustering, pattern recognition and topological invariability mapping, etc. In this paper, we take the registration rate, first wish rate and per capital GDP in each province as input, use SOM neural network clustering to establish decision-making model of university enrollment which can provide a reference basis for enrollment plan and propaganda. Experiments are given to show that the way using SOM focusing on cluster analysis of student source is feasible and obtains satisfying results. It can provide a new reference basis for making enrollment plan, which has a wide application prospect in the field of university admissions. |
