Abstract: This paper is a novel approach to provide a highly secured mailing system among intranet. As networking has become the buzzword in today?s world of computing, hacker?s intervention also increases. Within an Intranet, most of the confidential messages are being transferred through e-mails that need to be protected from intermediate attacks. A high level of security is essential to achieve this secure transfer. This paper is a stepping stone towards the integration of mailing system and secured communication via a single application, whereby users can send and receive mails with proper authentication and confidentiality without losing any data. Here the concept of security is achieved using RSA algorithm since it is considered to be one of the most secure cryptographic algorithms. The emails are transferred and received after encryption and decryption, respectively. Yet an another main objective of this work is users can send and receive mails without using any browsers and email packages like Internet Explorer, Netscape Navigator, Outlook Express, etc. It is a platform independent system compatible with all operating systems and can be applied to any kind of intranet. |
