AUTOMATIC VELOCITY DETECTION SYSTEM CONSTRUCTED WITH DIGITAL COMPUTER AND SIMPLE ANALOG MOTION DETECTION CIRCUIT
Kimihiro Nishio
Abstract:
The biological vision system has superior functions such as the motion detection. Although the previous proposed analog complementary metal oxide semiconductor (CMOS) circuit based on the biological vision system is simple structure, the circuit can detect the motion of the object in real time. Even if it is difficult for digital computer to perform the real time image processing, the computer has many functions such as the audio output, character representation and others. In this study, I tried to propose the novel basic system by applying the analog circuit for detecting the motion in real time and the personal computer. As an example, the prototype of the automatic velocity detection system was fabricated in this research. The motion detection circuit was introduced to the first stage of the proposed system. Also the circuit detected the velocity of the car. The velocity signal generated by the circuit was input to the personal computer. The computer and the liquid crystal display (LCD) were connected. When the excessive speeds car moves on the circuit, the warning messages were displayed on LCD. It was clarified from the measured results of the fabricated prototype that the proposed system can operate correctly.
