Abstract: This paper performs simulations to explore the relationship between streaming video users’ behavior and autocorrelation structures of traffic data with variance-time (VT) plots. We simulate video deliveries from a streaming server to playback clients and users’ playback cancellation behaviors. We observe from the simulation results that when the traffic intensity increase, the cancellation rate increases and VT plots decay considerably over large timescales; independent of the playback times and data rates of video streams. |
