Abstract: As a kind of mathematical generalization of both
dynamical system theory and quantum mechanics, we recently propose measurement
theory. This theory is characterized as a method to reform and improve a
qualitative ordinary language to a quantitative language (called the measurement
theoretical language). The measurement theoretical language has a great power of
expression. The purpose of this paper is to show that measurement theory is
effective to solve most mathematical questions in elementary school education.
Particularly, two questions (i.e., and “the problem of pheasants and rabbits”) will be
discussed.
Keywords and phrases: measurement theory, quantitative language, problem of pheasants and rabbits, Fisher’s maximum likelihood method, language game, probability, problem of universals.
