POWER PEAK FACTOR ESTIMATION USING ADAPTIVE NEURAL FUZZY INFERENCE SYSTEM

Abstract:
In this paper, a new approach to the study Power Peak Factor (PPF) using an Adaptive Neural Fuzzy Inference System (ANFIS) is presented. By mapping input/output patterns describing as input (i) the position of four control rods, (ii) the axial power differences obtained from ex-core detectors in the north and west sides of the reactor core, and (iii) the quadrant power differences from detectors located in the bottom and top part and as output the power peak factor. Zero power reactor with specific design experiment data for train ANFIS was used to this application. The results confirm the potential of ANFIS to predict accurately and in real time the PPF in such way that can be implemented in the reactor protection systems of the Nuclear Power Plant.
