Abstract: T. Kobayashi obtained in [Proc. Amer. Math. Soc. 97 (1986), 714-716] a version of the Borsuk-Ulam theorem mod q in a constructive way, using basic concepts of Algebraic Topology. In this work, we obtain a generalization of the classic Borsuk-Ulam theorem and we use more sophisticated results in the proof of this theorem. We obtain also results about the nonexistence of equivariant maps of odd degree between complexes Stiefel manifolds and spheres of same dimension. |
Keywords and phrases: Borsuk-Ulam theorem, transfer, trace of an action, equivariant maps. |
