A MATHEMATICAL STUDY OF CARNOT CYCLES FOR REAL GASES

Abstract:
This note aims at a mathematical study of the Carnot cycles for real gases. The thermal efficiency is calculated for real gases satisfying the equations of state of van der Waals and of Berthelot. We observe that the potential energy of the intermolecular attractive force of the gas turns into the internal energy. |
