DISTRIBUTIONS ON THE ESTIMATED
WITH ASYMMETRIC TOLERANCES

Abstract: Pearn and Chen [J. Appl. Stat. 25(6) (1998), 801-810] proposed
a generalization of the widely-used process capability index
to handle processes with asymmetric tolerances. Recently, Lin and Pearn [A note
on the interval estimation of
with asymmetric tolerances, J. Nonparametric Statistics (2002), accepted]
investigated the large sample properties of its natural estimator under some
regularity conditions. In this paper, the sampling distributions and the
limiting distributions of an estimator are investigated under a different but
practical condition for stable normal processes, in which the knowledge
is available. |
