Abstract: A scalar field theory which has an interaction term
proportional to the fourth power of the field is examined in perturbation
theory. It is shown that the bare parameters in the Lagrangian can be expanded
in Laurent type series in inverse powers of where n
is the number of space time dimensions, and the renormalization constants to
second order in the coupling are obtained.
