NUMERICAL SIMULATION OF CO- AND COUNTER-SWIRLS ON THE ISOTHERMAL FLOW AND MIXTURE FIELD IN A COMBUSTION CHAMBER
This numerical simulation is intended to predict the direction of rotation of the flow of two coaxial jets with turbulent swirling intensities (swirl number) different: 0.46 for the central flow and the flow to ±1.0 ring. This study focuses on the influence of the direction of rotation of the secondary flow, that is to say, the two configurations are processed and compared: co-swirl and counter-swirl The comparison of calculation results with actual measurements showed an appreciation for the stations near the entrance and a handicap for stations near the outlet and sincerely counter-swirl. The turbulence model used is the Reynolds stress in its most elaborate versions, SSG.
