DEVELOPMENT OF SIMPLE SIMULATION MODEL FOR SCROLL COMPRESSOR
This paper presents the development of a scroll compressor model which can be combined with a detailed compression process model to produce a comprehensive scroll compressor model. 1-D commercial software called AMESim was employed to develop the computational model that can describe the behavior of a real scroll compressor and evaluate its performance and efficiency. This paper also includes the detailed modeling procedure and contradiction in terms of the compressing process and geometry. In addition, a simulation study was carried out with the final model to verify its reliability, and the simulation results were validated with other analytical and experimental data. This research is expected to provide a viable tool and an easy way for developing and optimizing a scroll-type compressor and predicting various physical and thermo dynamical properties.
