ANALYSIS ON FLOW PERFORMANCE OF 2900cc CLASS DIESEL ENGINE INTAKE PORT THROUGH REVERSE ENGINEERING
In this paper, we built a three-dimensional model by applying reverse engineering techniques on targeting the intake port of 2900cc class diesel engine before that three-dimensional design technique is applied, and predicted the performance of the intake port through the flow analysis. The helical port and the tangential port mounted on the intake port were separated, and the effect of each port on the air flow meter and the swirl number was analyzed. It could confirm that as a result of flow field analysis, rather the swirl component was reduced because the flow of helical port and tangential port was conflicted. However, the mass flow-rate performance of two ports (helical port and tangential port) was independent without interference to each other.
