Abstract: We proposed in this study simple analog motion detection circuits and network based on the vertebrate retina. The network constructed with unit circuits has functions for edge detection and generation of the motion signal. The unit circuit for motion detection is constructed with about fifteen n-channel metal oxide semiconductor (nMOS) transistors and two capacitors. The simulation results with the simulation program with integrated circuit emphasis (SPICE) showed that the array of unit circuits can generate the motion signal. The test circuit was fabricated on the breadboard by the discrete MOS transistors. The measured results of the test circuit showed that the circuit can detect the movement of the object. We can expect to realize the new visual sensor which is characterized by the high resolution and low power consumption by applying our circuits. |
