Abstract: This paper shows how the parameters of simple motion models can be estimated using lidar data. Possible tracks are clothoids and their special cases circle and straight line. Under the assumption that the signal processing of the lidar data yields an error-free sequence of relative translations and rotations for a single object, the relation between this sequence and the motion, model can be expressed in terms of equations. Consequently, these systems of equations can be used in a least squares approach. |
