RADIATION EFFECT ON MHD COUETTE FLOW WITH HEAT AND MASS TRANSFER BETWEEN TWO PARALLEL PLATES
The paper considers the effect of radiation on an unsteady flow of a conducting optically thin fluid between two parallel plates in presence of heat and mass transfers. On the basis of certain simplifying assumptions, the fluid equations of continuity, momentum and energy are reduced to mathematical terms, and closed-form analytical solutions of the velocity distribution, energy and mass transfer are obtained. The overall analysis of the study shows that the flow variables are affected mainly by radiation parameters in addition to the magnetic factor. The manifestations of these effects are demonstrated analytically and quantitatively.
