A SIMPLE ALGORITHM TO FIND NORMAL INTEGRAL BASES OF ABELIAN NUMBER FIELDS OF EXPONENT 2, 3, 4 OR 6

Abstract: Let L be an abelian number field of degree n with Galois group G of exponent 2, 3, 4 or 6. In this paper, we show how to compute easily a normal integral basis for L, if there is at least one, assuming that the group G and an integral basis for L are known. |
