Abstract: We investigated the optical properties of ZnO nanoparticles in solvent with time. ZnO nanoparticles were synthesized by the precipitation method in 2-propanol. X-ray diffraction pattern was used to identify the synthesized nanoparticles. The size of ZnO nanoparticles was estimated by TEM images and absorption edge. ZnO was synthesized after aging for three hours. Photoluminescence was measured by fluorescence spectrophotometer. Green luminescence related to surface defects decreased rapidly. The ultraviolet luminescence related to the band gap of ZnO increased gradually. We considered the surface of ZnO nanoparticle in 2-propanol was rapidly passivated during increase in the crystallinity of ZnO. |
