Abstract: In this paper, product estimators of the population mean are suggested using double extreme ranked set sampling (DERSS) method. The newly suggested estimators are compared with their counterparts suggested by Singh and Tailor [13] based on using simple random sampling (SRS) method. It is shown that the DERSS estimators are approximately unbiased of the population mean and DERSS is more efficient than SRS for estimating the population mean based on the same number of quantified units. Also, it is found that the mean square error of the modified product estimators is smaller with positive values of the correlation coefficient. |
