Abstract: A numerical study has been conducted on the effects of an inner object on the heat transfer in a side-cooling enclosure with a heat source on the opposite wall. It is found that an inner object hinders heat transfer in most of the cases considered in the present study and enhances it by several % in some cases. In the cases where the flow between heat source and object resembles the forced convective flow in a channel with two parallel flat walls, modified Nusselt and modified Grashof numbers for heat transfer correlation are proposed. |
