Abstract
In this paper, a finite element-boundary element-coupling method for a 3D transient eddy current problem in an unbounded region is investigated. This novel fully discrete decoupled scheme based on the E-splitting formulation guarantees the existence and uniqueness of the approximating solution and meanwhile avoids increasing calculating complexity. Its optimal energy-norm error estimate in finite time is obtained.

Keywords and phrases: transient eddy current problem, E-splitting formulation, finite elements, boundary elements, fully discrete decoupled scheme, error estimate.
