respectively. Effects of different geometrical parameters of the wavy plate, wavy plate arrangement and heat flux on the heat transfer characteristics are considered. The turbulent mathematical model is employed to determine the temperature and velocity distributions. The wavy plate has significant effect on the onset and the growth of the recirculation zones. Due to the presence of recirculation zones, the convective heat transfer obtained from the channel with the wavy plate is higher than that of the flat plate.

STUDY ON THE HEAT TRANSFER CHARACTERISTICS IN THE CHANNELS WITH TRAPEZOIDAL AND V-SHAPE WAVY PLATES

Abstract:
The experimental and numerical results of the heat transfer characteristics in the channel with trapezoidal and V-shape wavy plates under constant heat flux conditions are presented. The test section is the channel with two opposite wavy plates which all configuration peaks lie in an in-phase and out-of-phase arrangements. The experiments are performed for the Reynolds number and heat flux in the ranges of 1,500-2,500 and 0.5-1.2
