Abstract: A problem of oscillating source flow of a
conducting fluid between parallel planes in the presence of a transverse
magnetic field of uniform strength fixed relative to the fluid is considered.
The solution obtained is in the form of an infinite series expansion in terms of
a reduced Reynolds number which signifies the importance of
convective inertia. The frequency and Reynolds number a and
m signify, respectively, the effect of
local inertia and the magnetic parameter on the flow characteristic.
