Abstract: In this paper, a new order statistic model for reliability prediction, which assumes an Exponentiated Weibull distribution for the fault detection times, is proposed. The new model accommodates a broad variety of failure rates and is thus a general model from which other models come out to be special cases. A model which assumes an Exponentiated Exponential distribution is also obtained as a special case. The predictive accuracies of the Exponentiated Weibull, Exponentiated Exponential and Weibull models are compared on two real data. The initial results are encouraging. |
