In this paper, we derive necessary and sufficient conditions for local and global asymptotic stability of both continuous-time and discrete-time nonlinear cascade systems. We prove our results using converse Lyapunov theorems and LaSalle’s invariance principle for continuous-time and discrete-time nonlinear systems. We illustrate our results with examples. |
