COMMENT ON HU ET AL.’S PROXY RING SIGNATURE SCHEME IN MCAM’07

Abstract:
Recently, Hu et al. introduced a new notion to proxy ring signature and proposed a scheme that is a proxy ring signature having traceability property. In contrast to previous works, it allows delegators to revoke the signer anonymity and the anonymity must be guaranteed against anyone except the delegator. In the paper [8], it was claimed that the scheme provides traceability and is secure proxy ring signature. However, we found that their scheme is incorrect in the sense that it does not provide traceability. In this paper, we explain why Hu et al.’s proxy ring signature scheme does not work well.
