A MATHEMATICAL MODEL WITH YOUNG POPULATION AGE-STRUCTURE MODEL FOR PREDATOR PREY

M. Ismail Abdelrahman (Kingdom of Saudi Arabia)

Received April 7, 2008

Abstract
In this paper, we consider a system of integrodifferential equations which models a predator-prey system with both species (predator and prey) age-structured and predators living only on the eggs of prey. The existence, stability and instability of nonnegative equilibria is studied assuming a general fecundity rate function for the prey. With a special choice of fecundity rate function for the predator, it is shown here that a large maturation period m of the predator leads to stability.

Keywords and phrases: stability, age-structured population, young predation, time delay.
