NONPARAMETRIC METHODS APPLIED TO NUCHAL TRANSLUCENCY AND FOETAL MACROSOMIA
Observational studies are often troublesome due to the possiblepresence of confounding factors, low sample size, missing values, etc. Testing methods based on the nonparametric combination of dependent permutation tests (NPC) may overcome these problems and, in general, permutation methods provide reasonably efficient solutions and clear interpretations of inferential results. In this work we apply the so-called multiple aspect testing approach to a case-control study. The main goal of the study is to assess whether or not there are significant differencesinthelocation-aspectand the distributional-aspect between �macrosomic infants� (cases) and �normal weight infants� (control). The possible detection of this correlation may be clinically important in preventing the complications of foetal macrosomia.
