A GENERALIZED PURELY EXPONENTIAL UNIVARIATE DISTRIBUTION

Abstract
Motivated by the recent work of the sociologist Jasso [2] dealing with status (prestige), we analyze extensions of the classical univariate exponential distribution with the density  by adding to the expression of density a denominator involving a square root of the form  which results in smaller values of the raw moments and of the Gini coefficient. A further generalization yielding the density

is also discussed.
