Abstract: A theoretical
analysis of three dimensional free convective couette flow through a porous
medium between two infinite vertical parallel flat plates with constant heat
flux has been discussed. The first plate has been kept
stationary, while the second plate has
been given a constant velocity U in
its own plane in the vertical direction. There is a constant heat flux at
the stationary plate and
the other plate is
maintained at a uniform temperature There
is a constant suction velocity V at
the plate whereas
the plate is
subjected to a suction injection velocity V
and an additional small periodic suction velocity. Then the total suction
velocity at the plate is
Which
renders the velocity field into a three dimensional one. There is a porous
medium in between the vertical plates, through which the fluid has to move
upward due to upward motion of and free convection currents at the second plate.
The problem is governed by non-linear partialdifferentialequations, whicharesolvedbyaperturbation technique. The
result has been discussed graphically and interpreted physically.
