Abstract
In this paper, the flow of a viscous incompressible, fluid through an infinite long straight porous tube of arbitrary cross-section in the presence of a constant pressure gradient has been studied. A numerical difference scheme is employed. The equilateral and rectangular cross-sections situations are considered as special cases. An appropriate numerical solution for the velocity is obtained. The effect of the permeability of the porous medium on the flow of the fluid is examined at length.

Keywords and phrases: viscous fluid, arbitrary cross-section, permeability, pressure gradient.
