Abstract: The present paper deals with the determination of
quasi-static thermal stresses in a rectangular plate subjected to constant heat
supply on the extreme edges whereas the initial edges are thermally insulated. The
initial temperature of a plate is kept at zero. The governing heat conduction
equation has been solved by using integral transform technique. The results are
obtained in series form in terms of trigonometric functions. The results for
displacement and stresses have been computed numerically and illustrated
graphically.
