Abstract: We consider the flow of the air in a rotating torus
with constant angular velocity W and
periodically excited by a perturbation on its surface. When the Mach number tends toward zero, we study,
through a change of variables taking into account the Ekman number the inertial oscillations in the
boundary layer. We show that, when the nondimensional parameters satisfy and contrary to the flow in the
proximal zone of the chamber, there exists a mode which leads to the resonance
of these inertial oscillations in the Ekman boundary layer.
