Abstract: The measured concentrations of neurochemicals, such as N-acetylaspartate
(NAA), creatine+phosphocreatine (Cr) and choline (Cho) on proton magnetic
resonance spectroscopic imaging in human brain exhibit considerable variation.
These variations have been quantified using a two-dimensional median-polish
method and constructing the statistical confidence intervals. Based on the
analysis on twelve normal volunteers (for a total of 950 voxels), the 90%
confidence limits were estimated to be about 15% deviate from the observed
values. |
Keywords and phrases: confidence intervals, image processes, median polish, magnetic
resonance spectroscopic image. |
