MEASURE OF DIAGONALS-PARAMETER SYMMETRY AND DECOMPOSITION OF
MEASURE OF SUB-SYMMETRY FOR SQUARE CONTINGENCY TABLES WITH ORDERED CATEGORIES

Abstract: For the analysis of square
contingency tables with ordered categories, this paper proposes the
Kullback-Leibler information type measure to represent the degree of departure
from Goodman’s [Biometrika 66
(1979), 413-418]
diagonals-parameter symmetry (D) model. Also, this paper proposes the measures
of departure from the sub-symmetry (SS) and the marginal diagonal sub-symmetry (MDSS)
models. The proposed measures would be useful for comparing the degree of
departure from each model in several tables. In addition, this paper gives a
theorem that the value of measure of departure from the SS model is equal to the
sum of the value of measure of departure from the MDSS model and that from the D
model. |
