GENERALIZED TRANSIENT HEAT CONDUCTION PROBLEM IN A THIN HOLLOW CYLINDER

K. C. Deshmukh (India)

Abstract
The solution of the problem of transient heat conduction in a hollow cylinder with arbitrary boundaries and initial conditions is obtained by employing the integral transform technique in the form of infinite series. The alternative form suitable for detailed numerical computation under different boundary and initial conditions is also obtained by introducing the so-called pseudo-steady temperature function introduced by Wankhede and Bhonsle [Proc. Nat. Acad. Sci. India 52(A) II (1982), 245-256].

Keywords and phrases: transient problem, heat conduction equation, thermoelastic problem.
