We present different mathematical tasks whose proof is based on the calculation of areas, with the purpose of increasing the usage of the area as a tool which in many cases permits solutions to be obtained which are more quick, beautiful and elegant than those achieved by other methods. Presentation of solutions by other methods for the same task highlights the connection between different branches of mathematics at the importance of obtaining as wide a “mathematical toolbox” as possible by the students.
