In this work, we present a periodization of the history of mathematics, which is focused on the nature of mathematical problems solved in each period; this division takes into account the internal and external forces of mathematics, and its development as a science, so the problems are the centers (dynamic) of interrelation among mathematics, the mathematicians and social needs.
